I AM  the CIO of my Mind, Body, Soul and Spirit

Let me begin by distinguishing what I mean by CIO.  

The CIO is the Chief Information Officer of an enterprise,  responsible for the management, implementation and usability of all information technology and the computer systems that support the organization’s unique goals. 

I, however, am referring to CIO as a position I give myself for my life. I am the Chief Information Officer of my mind, body, soul and spirit; committed to my personal growth and development and to taking the actions necessary to have love and happiness be  the source of my self-expression. 

Now I’m sure you’re wondering, did I just wake up one morning, look in the mirror and say: “From this day forward I am the Chief Information Officer of my MIND, BODY,  SOUL and SPIRIT?”

Well sort of, but not quite. It began with a question or rather questions. Questions, allowed me to have a conversation with myself, an inquiry into the why’s, how’s, who’s… etc. where my life was concerned. I knew I did not want the next ten years of my life to be like the last ten years. Going to a job I did not like and doing work that was  not satisfying. I had a hunger to do good for humanity and as far as I could tell all I was doing was making a big corporation more money. Not to mention it took me an hour and twenty minutes to get there and another three hours to get back home. Both the stress and the commute were starting to take a toll on my body. I was not allowed to express my ideas freely and it was stifling my creativity, and there was no room to grow in the company.  As a result, I began the journey of discovering the truth of who I am. This allowed me to see what was missing, so that I could be at the source of my own power, freedom and self-expression.

 Maybe you’ve heard people say “I need to find myself.” I want you to consider that there is nothing to find and everything to discover.  As the ancient philosopher Aristotle said: “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” Knowing yourself grants access to a life you love and it all begins with what I call the self-interview.

Inside this self-interview I got present to what I was feeding my mind. Knowing the power of my thoughts and that thoughts become things, and that what I tell myself determines the actions I take or don’t take; all of which inevitably  add up to what my life looks like at any given moment in time. 

YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

Ask yourself the following  questions, and answering from a place of honesty don’t be afraid to call one out on yourself. Eliminating the blame game will have you be 100% responsible for the outcome of your life.  Once you accept the responsibility, you begin to see why being the Chief Information Officer of your life is your birthright.

These are some of the questions that I ask myself when I want to cause a shift in my life:

  1. What am I feeding my mind?
  • What I am watching on TV? 
  • What books I am reading?
  • What thoughts that are going on inside my head because I am the only one listening?
  • What am I saying?
  • Is my communication adding value, leaving me touched, moved and inspired to take a new action or forwarding my goals this year?

 

  1. What are my power words?

I believe the power of life and death is in the tongue.  Being responsible for what you say about yourself and more importantly what you believe can make or break your circumstances.  

I live inside these power words:

  • I am bold
  • I am beautiful
  • I am desirable 
  • I am loved
  • I am wanted

 

  1. What am I declaring for my day?

I begin my day with declarations that inspire me and empower the people in my life. 

Today I choose:

  • I am a fireball of energy that is fuelling me and those around me! 
  • I also speak words of gratitude.
  • I am grateful for a healthy body.

 

  1. What is my body saying to me?

To be in the inquiry of my body means listening to what it needs:

  • Am I scheduling all the regular check-ups that my body needs, such as physicals, eye exams, dental appointments, chiropractor, massage therapy?
  • Am I scheduling my week to exercise regularly?
  •  Am I manage my stress productively? Such as doing a regular yoga class?
  •  Am I fuelling my body with the nutrients it needs to be the most fuel-efficient and powerful it can be?
  • Is there any other condition that may affect my state of mind, such as hormone fluctuations?
  • Am I getting the optimal amount of sleep my body needs to be revitalized and energetic?
  1. What am I feeding my soul?

Feeding my soul is very important to me because it increases my faith and gets me connected to my life’s purpose.  I am a change agent, bestselling author, speaker and coach committed to spreading the message of hope around the world. All of this was created because my faith feeds my spirit, keeps me thriving and always at peace in knowing it will all work out. My life is a walking talking testimony of my faith and it continues to give me access to the courage to discover untapped areas of growth and expansion allowing me to continue to send out love and positive vibrations to people around me. 

The next time you feel like a shift is needed in your life, ask yourself: “What would my life look like if I were the Chief Information Officer of my mind, body and Soul?”
